Following a tip off from the Nigerian consulate, Dubai police arrested two prostitutes, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The tip off was about NB, 31, who brought women from Nigeria to work in the vice trade in UAE and collect part of the income.

On August 16, Dubai police learnt from NB’s employer, a shipping company, who offered her a clerk’s visa but did not see her for the past six months, that she stays in the Gardens.

On August 31, police raided the flat and arrested NB and another woman JA, 32, who was on a visit visa but was overstaying her visa.

“One room was used by NB and had one bed while the other room had five beds. Asking her about the beds, she said that she leases the beds to compatriot women, one of whom was JA,” Second Lieutenant Saeed Taleb told prosecutors.

The two women admitted to working as prostitutes.

NB admitted to bringing women from her country, stripping them and making indecent videos to threaten with posting the videos and pictures on the Internet if they failed to repay her the cost of bringing them into the UAE.

NB had actually posted an indecent video of a woman who refused to work in prostitution after she brought her from Nigeria.

JA admitted to offering sex in homes of customers. After losing her passport, she managed to get a forged one for Dh1,500. She used the forged passport to prove her identity when accompanying men to their hotels.

Police confiscated some sex-related tools and an account book used by NB where she registered payments made to her by women.

Dubai Prosecution supplied the court with indecent videos and pictures taken by NB of compatriot women.

The court will reconvene on January 12.
