Three masked Arab men stormed an apartment in Ajman, tied up two housemaids and broke the safe before making away with nearly two kg of gold and Dh75,000. Within one day, they fell into the police grip.
Police were told by the apartment owner that he had returned home to find his two maids tied up and the safe empty after its door was broken.
He said his maids told him that three masked men broke the flat’s door and overpowered them before smashing the safe open.
One maid told police that she heard one thief calling his friend by the name “Abu Sabq” just before leaving the apartment with the loot, which also included electronic equipment.
“After identifying the car used by the three, police succeeded in locating two of them. They raided their apartment in Ajman and arrested the two,” the semi official daily Alitithad said, adding their friend was also caught at a hotel in Sharjah within 24 hours after the theft.”
