Cab driver tried to sell customer for $1,000

A Filipina girl waved for a taxi in Kuwait and asked the Bangladeshi driver to take her to work. A few minutes later, she opened the door and hurled herself out after overhearing him telling a friend he has a girl to sell for $1,000.

The girl suffered from serious injuries after jumping out of the speeding cab and narrowly escaped death when a car behind the taxi nearly hit her.

As he maneuvered his way from the girl, the driver of the other car, a Kuwait, phoned the ambulance and then chased the taxi, forcing it to stop. Police later arrived and arrested the Bangladeshi.

At hospital, the Filipina told investigators that she jumped out of the taxi when she overheard the driver telling a friend that he had a girl to sell for KD300 and after he refused to let her out.

“The taxi driver was arrested and charged of kidnapping and causing serious injuries to the girl,” Alwatan daily said.
