Civil servant held for alleged sorcery
Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested a municipality employee on charges of involvement in sorcery against his work mates, a newspaper said on Thursday.
Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided the employee’s office in the southern province of Jazan after receiving a report from his colleagues that he was trying to cast a magic spell on them.
“They found talismans and other magic items in his office…experts at the Commission decided that they were prepared for sorcery and ordered his arrest,” Okaz daily said.
