An African housemaid who apparently was infuriated by her demanding female employer rushed to the kitchen, got a hammer and brought it down on the woman’s head many times, a newspaper said on Tuesday.
Doctors said the woman was brought with a “hammered” head into hospital in the northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin but that she was not stable after receiving treatment.
“The maid, aged 30 years, hit the woman with the hammer on her head many times…police arrested the maid and are questioning her exact motives,” the Saudi Arabic language daily 'Okaz' said.
Three university students in Saudi Arabia waited for a colleague to leave the campus, followed him to a deserted area and forced him to strip his clothes. They then filmed him by their mobiles to extort money from him.
The man had no choice but give them what they wanted after they threatened to publish the pictures of his naked body online.
“The promised to give him all the photographs once he gives them enough money….but they did not respect their word and kept extorting him,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sharq said.
In a report from the western town of Taif, the paper said the man then decided to report them to the Gulf kingdom’s feared religious police. He was asked by members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice to call the three students, including two Saudis and one African, and pretend that he would give them more money.
“When they came to the agreed place, Commission members were waiting for them…they found many obscene pictures for the man in their mobiles and decided to refer them to the prosecution."
An Indonesian housemaid absconding from her employers in Saudi Arabia accepted an offer for sex by two local men, apparently not aware the offer would snowball into rape by seven drunk men.
The 23-year-old got into the car with the two Saudis heading from the western town of Makkah for the Red Sea port of Jeddah, where they bought liquor and took the maid to their apartment.
After having sex with her, the two got drunk before heading with the maid for a rest house just outside the city for a presumed meal.
At the rest house, they phoned five friends and invited them for “food and sex”, telling them not to bring any liquor as they had enough in the car.
“The seven then forced the maid into the car and took her to a deserted area, where they took turns in raping her savagely,” Sabq daily said.
“After finishing, they beat her up and dumped her near the road late night before driving away…a police patrol in the early hours of morning found the maid walking aimlessly as she looked exhausted and battered.”
The paper said police took the maid to hospital and mounted a manhunt in search of the rapists.
A Saudi drug addict on trial in the Gulf kingdom for taking narcotics and assaulting his parents managed to get a piece of hashish while waiting in a room adjoining court just before he was escorted into the courtroom.
Police said the man went into court concealing the drugs inside his anus and managed to smuggle it into prison after trial in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, according to the Arabic language daily 'Okaz'.
They said prison guards, acting on a tip off, seized the hashish with the 40-year-old defendant inside prison but he told that he had found it in the toilet at the courtroom building, the paper said.
It quoted the prosecutor as saying he would demand a more stringent punishment of the defendant after that incident, adding that he had already been charged of taking drugs and alcohol, theft and assaulting his parents.
Police believe the defendant might have received the hashish from a friend as the waiting room next to the court has no security cameras.”
