Gauze left inside woman’s womb

A Saudi woman who gave birth to a baby girl at a hospital in the Gulf Kingdom and was discharged on the next day felt excruciating pain just after she stepped into her house. Images later showed the pain was caused by a gauze inside her womb.

Doctors in the central town of Buraidah told the woman she was able to leave hospital a day after delivery and that she and the baby were both in good condition.

“When the woman went back home, she started to feel severe pains…her husband took her to a nearby clinic which told him his wife had a piece of gauze inside her womb,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq said.

“Her husband rushed her back to the hospital and doctors managed to remove that gauze…the husband is planning to file a complaint to authorities.”
