Maid flees customs employer with big loot

An Asian housemaid in Kuwait outwit her employer who works as a customs officer and sneaked out of the oil-rich Gulf emirate with nearly KD7,000 ($25,000) worth of his jewellery, press reports said on Tuesday.

The unnamed officer had just returned home and found that his maid had disappeared. When he checked his wardrobe, he discovered all the jewellery which belongs to his wife was missing.

“He quickly enquired about her at the airport and found that she had left to her country,” Alanba daily said.
