An Ethiopian housemaid waited for her employer to go to bed on Thursday night, entered her room and stabbed her before using an axe to cut her head off. The Kuwaiti girl, who was to wed on Friday, was found dead by her brother.
The 25-year-old girl is believed to have woken up at the first stab and tried to resist her attacker, who then used an axe to sever her head.
Police in Kuwait City found the blood-stained axe in the back garden and the fleeing maid became the prime suspect.
“Police immediately sent her name to all outlets in the emirate…the 28-year-old maid was arrested just before she was about to board a flight at Kuwait airport,” the Kuwaiti Arabic language daily Al-Anba said.
“At first she tried to deny the murder but traces of the victim’s blood were found on her…she then confessed to killing her employer….interrogation is still under way to determine the motives of this heinous murder.”
