Maid treated after suicide attempt commits suicide

An Ethiopian housemaid admitted to hospital in Saudi Arabia with fractures in the head and other parts of the body following a suicide attempt managed to kill herself a few days after she started to recover.

The maid has been in hospital in Riyadh following her attempt to commit suicide at King Khaled airport in the capital last week and doctors said she committed a suicide just after her condition began to improve.

“She went into the bathroom in her room, opened the window and threw herself out…she hit the ground and died instantly,” kabar newspaper said, quoting hospital spokesman Ibrahim Al Subaih.

The paper quoted doctors as saying the girl is believed to have suffered from mental problems before killing herself.
