Man caught with mistress says he was haunted by her

A rich Saudi man who was caught with a married woman after a 10-year-old affair told the Gulf Kingdom’s feared religious police he was with her because she controlled him by magic and that she forced him to kneel for her every day.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice caught the 40-year-old man with the woman, 39, at his apartment in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah after her husband reported her missing 10 years ago.

Newspapers quoted police as saying they found drugs and several cheques with the woman, who was reported to have abandoned her children for the wealthy man.

“During investigation, the man claimed he was with the woman all those years because she has cast a magic spell on him…he said she was forcing him to kneel for her every day and made him give her SR2 million (Dh1.95 million),” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq said.
