A Saudi man was killed during a fight at a tribal meeting held in Saudi Arabia to reconcile feuding clans following a fight between their members.
The fight followed a heated argument at the meeting, prompting a 28-year-old man to attack a 55-year-old man from the other tribe with a knife.
“He stabbed him and fled…the man who was attacked died in hospital later while the assailant returned and surrendered to the police,” the Arabic language Alwatan newspaper said in a report from the western town of Medina.
Woman gives birth to quintuplets in Saudi
An Egyptian woman gave birth to quintuplets at a hospital in Saudi Arabia on Sunday and doctors said the mother and all the babies were in good condition.
The woman was rushed to King Saud hospital in Riyadh after she went into labour in her eighth month pregnancy, Ajel newspaper said.
The mother and the babies, weighing between 500 and 950 gm each at birth, were all in good condition, the paper said without specifying their gender.
Child escapes 60 metre fall in water well
A four-year-old Saudi girl plunged into a 60-metre deep water well but emerged unscathed after she was rescued by the civil defence.
The girl was playing near the abandoned well in the western town of Hanakiya when she fell inside, prompting other children to inform her family.
Civil defence men used advanced cameras and oxygen systems to keep the girl alive before plucking her out of the 40-metre-wide well in an hour-long rescue operation.
“The girl was picked out of the well in a good condition and was taken to the hospital for observation,” Sharq Arabic language daily said.
