A Saudi prince who heads the Gulf Kingdom’s wildlife agency slammed men who were shown in a YouTube film burning a fox alive, describing them as terrorists.

Prince Bandar bin Saudi bin Mohammed urged the police to find and arrest those men and appealed for the public to provide information about their location. The prince said the men poured petrol on the fox and locked it in a cage before setting it on fire, branding their act “a heinous and brutal crime”.

“These men have nothing to do with Islam. Actually they are not men but terrorists, even if the fox tries to harm you, it should not be killed this way,” the prince said, quoted by the Arabic language daily Sabq. “I call on the interior ministry to do its best to locate those men and arrest them.

I also appeal for the public to help the police in getting these men.” Sabq said the interior ministry has already mounted a manhunt for those persons, who were shown in the film burning the fox to death.

Saudi men locked a fox in a cage and set it on fire before publishing their savage act on U Tube. The film published in Arar newspaper showed the fox running amok to escape the blaze before it fell and died inside the cage.

The paper did not say where in Saudi Arabia the film was shot but noted that it followed two incidents in which foxes were tortured or killed.
