Oman to deport man for selling porno films

An Omani court sentenced an Indian electronics shop owner to three months in jail and ordered his deportation after he was caught selling pornographic films, the local press reported on Monday.

Inspectors from the country’s consumer protection authority, making surprise visits to shops within a crackdown on fake items, seized the man in Muscat while he tried to sell porno films and counterfeit CDS, the paper said.

“The court sentenced him to three months in jail and fined him RP1,000 ($2,600)…it also ordered his deportation after completing his prison term,” the Arabic language daily 'Al Watan' said.
