Saudi jailed, to be lashed for whipping his wife

A Saudi court sentenced a local man to one month in prison and ordered him lashed 50 times after he was found guilty of using a metal cable to whip his wife.

The woman from Qaseem in the eastern province of Qateef had reported her husband to the police and presented a medical report showing her husband severely beat her with the cable.

“The report showed the woman suffered from bruises in various parts of her body as a result of the lashing by her husband,” Alriyadh daily said.
