Saudi shoots wife, then ends life near court

A Saudi man seriously injured his wife before committing a suicide by shooting himself just before entering a court for a case filed by his wife against him on Monday.

In an urgent report, Sabq newspaper said the man has just arrived in front of the court house in the western town of Makkah when he saw his wife and her father.

“He pulled a gun and shot his wife….he then shot himself….the man died on the spot while his wife was rushed to hospital in a serious condition,” the paper said.

It said the wife had filed a case against her husband but gave no other details. It quoted police as saying they would issue a statement about the incident later Monday.
