Saudi student shot by robbers in US dies

A Saudi student on a scholarship in the United States died nearly two weeks after he was shot by two unknown men who tried to rob him.

Mansour Al Yami was walking towards his friend’s home in the western US town of Santa Ana at night two weeks ago when he was stopped by the two.

“They told him to hand them his money but he told them he was not carrying any money at that time. They then shot him in the back,” Sabq daily said.

It said Yami was rushed to hospital suffering from serious backbone injuries before he died on Sunday.
