A thief managed to shoot himself with a gun hidden in his trousers as he attempted to rob a bus in Mexico.
The man was caught on CCTV on the bus as he fumbled with the weapon, which was tucked into the front of his jeans.
The footage shows the man struggling to get the gun out as it is caught on his t-shirt.
Then, the weapon fires and goes flying towards the ceiling of the bus.
The bungling criminal is flung to the floor of the bus and is seen cowering by chairs as stunned passengers look on.
The video has gone viral on social media and shows the gunman boarding the vehicle with another man, they also left together with the injured man appearing disoriented.
The pair are yet to be identified and the authorities are unsure on the wounded man's condition.
