Woman returns stolen money after 'nightmares'

By Staff

A female teacher went into the police station in Kuwait and burst into crying, saying she could not sleep because of nightmares after she stolen from her friend.

She told the surprised police officer that she had withdrawn nearly KD1,800 ($6,450) from her friend’s bank account without her knowledge although the other woman had trusted her and shown her the account password.

“She could not stop crying until the officer calmed her down and asked her to tell him what is happening,” the Kuwait Al Watan newspaper said.

“She said that since she had taken the money, she has had sleepless nights because of nightmares and told him she just wants to return the money.”

The paper said the officer summoned the other woman and resolved the issue “cordially”. It did not identify the two women but said both are Arab expatriates living in the same apartment in Kuwait City.
