'Bullionaire' pleads guilty in fake notes case

A man nicknamed ‘Bullionaire’ has pleaded guilty before a federal judge in Pittsburgh to mailing $5,200 in counterfeit $100 bills from North Carolina to Los Angeles.

Robert Dent is being prosecuted in Pittsburgh because that's where some of the other bogus bills were passed.

A man named Ryan Gustafson has been jailed on charges he printed at least $1.4 million worth of high-quality counterfeit bills when he lived in Uganda, then sold and shipped them to people like Dent through an encrypted Internet site.

Authorities say Dent went by "Bullionaire" on the website and shipped the $100 bills that Gustafson made from Fayetteville, North Carolina, in May 2014.

Dent could get more than three years in prison when he is sentenced May 13. His attorney says Dent made a mistake in getting involved.
