Dad faces charges of killing 19-day-old baby

A Californian man is charged with sexually assaulting and killing his 19-day-old baby girl.

Initially, he had reported the newborn missing, but in less than 12 hours the 30-year-old dad was arrested as he led police to the place where his baby lay dead, reported latest.com.

Only after closer examination of the body was it revealed that the baby was sexually assaulted, too. And his bail has been increased to over $2 million (Dh7.3m) and if convicted, he could face a life sentence.

While his mom does not believe her son could have done it, the suspect’s mother-in-law thinks otherwise.  She claims that he was a “danger to the tiny girl as he would regularly ‘get high’ and was on probation for drug charges...”
