Indian origin couple held for slavery
A man and a woman of Indian origin in the UK have been charged for forcing 28-year-old woman to work as a slave for them, according to a report in the UK daily Metro.
The victim was 'found being held in domestic servitude', police was quoted as saying in the newspaper.
47-year-old Minu Chopra, and her husband Sanjeev Chopra, were arrested on suspicion of forced labour offences. They forced the woman to work for them and exploited her between July 31, 2015 and February 11, 2016.
The authorities moved the victim out of the house.
The couple will appear at Manchester Minshull St Crown Court on March 11.
