Indian sisters may be first women hanged

Published

Two sisters in India may become the first women to be hanged in the country.

They were sentenced to death in 2001 for kidnapping 13 kids and killing nine of them, reported ToI.

The Indian President rejected their mercy petitions last month and the buffer period for officials to inform all concerned about the final judgement ends tomorrow [Saturday].

Renuka and Seema, along with their mother, kidnapped kids and forced them to beg. They killed kids who stopped being productive.

The sisters are currently lodged in Yerwada jail in Pune.

While their mother passed away during the trial, their father turned approver and was acquitted.
