Three kids aged five, six and seven buried alive a two-year-old girl while playing.
The trio were playing with the little girl in the neighbourhood. They decided to dig a hole into the ground, filled it up with water and then pushed the little girl into it. Finally, they buried her in by covering the hole with soil.
The girl was being looked after the grandmother when the incident occurred in a village in western Kenya, reports a local news website. https://tuko.co.ke/99844-sad-friends-bury-two-year-old-kakamega-girl-alive-game-mock-funeral.html
The three kids realised a little later that the girl had choked to death. They dug her body out and left it next to a banana farm.
The eldest of the three kids, who was seven years old, fled the village fearing punishment upon discovery.
The child's grandfather was heartbroken but defended the other children by saying that they were probably trying to imitate a burial ceremony after witnessing one. The village will organise a cleansing ritual for the three children, he added.
Police officials termed the death as an accident.
