Mom killed, 2 daughters raped for vegetable theft

A group of 10 killed a mother and raped her two daughters for stealing vegetables from a local market in Nigeria, according to a report.

A video showed the three victims being stripped naked and tortured at a market in Nigeria as an act of street justice for stealing vegetables.

The mother died on the spot. The father managed to rescue his two daughters after paying a ransom.

Six of the convicts have been arrested and the police are still looking for four other suspects.

“The suspects were charged with murder, indecent assault, extortion and conspiracy,” a police spokesperson said.

Human rights activists have condemned the attack stating that street violence is no solution to preventing crime.
