New Delhi - A PhD scholar is accused of raping and impregnating his 13-year-old sister-in-law in South Delhi.
The incident came to light when the girl was taken to a hospital after she complained of stomach pain, reported NDTV.
The Grade 8 student was residing with the suspect, while his wife [the victim’s elder sister] was staying with her in-laws in the neighbouring state.
The girl broke down upon questioning and recounted her ordeal to police.
Medical reports confirm she was raped. She is two months pregnant, too.
Conmen use Shah Rukh Khan’s Red chillies
Mumbai - More than 300 wannabe artists collected at the Versova police station alleging that they were conned by people who claimed they were employees Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies production house.
The complainants told police that they received a text message inviting them for auditions for a project. But when they appeared at the location, each one was asked to pay Rs3,000 [Dh178] as fee for the audition, reported Mid-Day.
One of the aspirants was quoted as saying about 100 people in the queue paid the money, when they started calling girls inside and asked the men to stand outside.
Another one of the aspirants – who is associated with a TV channel – called up Red Chillies to confirm. When they replied in the negative, he immediately alerted others and police.
Meanwhile, a Red Chillies statement says they are glad a police investigation is underway.
Woman cop catches drunk molester on bus
A woman constable thwarted a molestation attempt on her on a moving bus in Delhi.
The 35-year-old woman not only stopped the attacker from causing harm to her but also overpowered him and had him arrested, reported Deccan Chronicle.
The incident took place when she was on her way to report to work at about 8pm.
The 24-year-old suspect allegedly started touching her inappropriately. Despite several warnings that she was a police officer, he continued his act and at one point even dared the woman to take action against him.
After almost half-an-hour the woman asked the bus driver to stop the bus. She dragged the suspect out of the bus and called the police station.
The suspect was drunk at the time of his arrest.
