Uber driver arrested for sexual assault

Police say an Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a woman and burglarising her home after giving her a ride in northeast Georgia has been arrested.

Athens-Clarke County police told multiple news outlets Friday that 49-year-old John Kemens was arrested in the December incident involving a 27-year-old woman. Kemens was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated sodomy with force and first degree burglary.

Police say Kemens picked up the woman from an Athens restaurant about 11.30pm and gave her a ride home, where he assaulted her.

Police say they tracked down Kemens with the help of the victim and Uber, the ride-sharing service.
