Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank yesterday said an Interpol arrest warrant issued against Chief Executive Eirvin Knox is a "personal issue regarding a matrimonial matter" and has nothing to do with the bank's operations.
"The bank and its executive management confirm their full support and ratification of all the CEO's actions," the statement said.
The Red Notice against Knox was issued in the Philippines, where Knox once worked as the head of a major bank, and relates to "a violation of an early 2004 [Philippine] act pertaining to violence against women and their children," Interpol sources said.
A Red Notice seeks the arrest of a wanted person with a view to extradition, they said.
ADCB said the UAE courts had already ruled in favour of Knox in this case and the court decision is pending implementation.
