Saudi Arabia willing to raise IMF contributions

Saudi Arabia's central bank governor said on Wednesday the kingdom was willing to pay its share in the capital of the International Monetary Fund and was expecting its quota to rise.

"Only as our share of the capital of the IMF... If quotas of the IMF are increased and if they increase the quota of Saudi Arabia then we will be happy to contribute," Muhammed al-Jasser told reporters on the sidelines of a conference in Bahrain on Wednesday.

Asked if he expected the quota to rise, he said: "Yes ... I expect the quotas to be increased ... there are numbers thrown around like doubling the quotas."
