The UAE led income growth of Standard Chartered's wholesale banking in the Middle East and South Asia region with an overall increase of 74 per cent, said 2009 financials. Provisions to the tune of $811 million (Dh2.9 billion) have weighed down on Mesa profit, which fell from $652m to $366m in 2009.
