Zero budget will curb violations

The enforcement of the zero budget during the next three years will help curb financial violations in some ministries and government departments, a senior Ministry of Finance official said.

Ministry Director-General Younis Haji Al Khouri was replying to queries by the Financial, Economic and Industrial Committee of the Federal National Assembly.

He said the zero budget will curb the waste public funds and will translate the state's ambitious strategy and plan to develop and update in various domains.

Chair of the FNC body Abdullah Al Mansouri asked representatives of the Ministry of Finance to explain the procedures of the zero budget and its compatibility with current legislations. He also sought explanations of the procedures to reveal violations at governmental departments.
