Abdul Muttalib is new OIC chief

Oman Insurance Company (OIC) has promoted General Manager Abdul Muttalib as Chief Executive Officer.

Muttalib began his career with the OIC upon its establishment in 1975 and oversaw the launch of several new insurance products in the Middle East region.

He has also been responsible for the first phase implementation of the company's regional expansion plans, opening offices in the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar.

Matar Humaid Al Tayer, Chariman of OIC, said he expects Muttalib to continue to work to raise the standards of insurance provision in the region.

"Muttalib has a long and distinguished career with OIC and his in-depth market expertise and commitment to quality make him well equipped to achieve results in his new role.

"The Board of Directors is very pleased with Muttalib's commitment to the financial success of the organisation through its commitment to serving customer needs," Al Tayer said.

OIC enjoyed 53 per cent growth in its third quarter results compared to the same period last year.
