Motor vehicle insurance policies will have to be routed to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) through the Licencing Agency's e-link facility from February 11.

Ahmed Hashim Bahrouzyan, CEO, RTA Licensing Agency, said the e-link service has been launched to connect insurance companies in the UAE with the RTA.

The initiative, he said, was aimed at minimising errors in entering insurance data during renewal of vehicle ownership. This will also bring the agency's services on par with globally-accepted standards, he said. The e-link initiative will enable companies to retrieve particulars of insurance policies online without the aid of licensing staff at RTA service centres in Dubai and save time.
