DPW plans Egypt economic zones

DP World is in final negotiations with the Egyptian government on behalf of Economic Zones World to set up economic zones on the Red Sea coast, Emirates Business has learnt.

The talks, which began a long time ago, received a strong push in February following the acquisition by DP World of a controlling stake in the company that runs Sokhna Port on the Gulf of Suez's west coast at the head of the Red Sea, according to a source at DP World

The vicinity of the port, which extends over some 22 sq km, will be the most probable site for establishing the economic zone, he said, but stopped short of giving any information on the expected volume of investment.
