Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Monday it planned to spend about Dh52.5 billion ($14.30 billion) in the next five years on infrastructure.

"We are to spend Dh10.5 billion a year for the coming five years," Mattar Al Tayer told reporters. "We now have under construction Dh26 billion of committed projects."

The RTA is carrying out large projects including a tram system and several roads and bridges in Dubai, the Gulf's tourism and trade hub. (Reuters)
