DHL launches global online shipment tracking tool

DHL has announced the launch of Global ProView, a tool that enables customers to track shipments online.

The worldwide express delivery and logistics company, part of German group Deutsche Post World Net, said Global ProView was accessible from any point on the internet and offered a complete and automatically updated overview of customers' global shipments.

DHL first introduced ProView to the US market in 2006, which had been met with high adoption rates as US customers could make efficient use of their time by automatically monitoring and communicating valuable shipment information in real-time.

Following the successful users' acceptance test in the US and other regions, Global ProView will now be rolled out in most key markets by the year-end.

"Designed to suit the needs of customers with a large number of TDI shipments, ProView can help them save time. Instead of following individual shipments through waybills or reference numbers, Global ProView enables customers to monitor shipments with their account number, which is password and PIN protected," according to a DHL source. "Once registered, customers can search, filter and download shipment information with just a few clicks. Shipments can also be grouped into categories based on their current tracking status."
