Dubai Metro on track

The Dubai Metro project is on schedule and will start carrying passengers in September, the Roads and Transport Authority has confirmed. "The Metro project is going smoothly and is on track," said RTA spokesman Payman Younes Parham.

The statement came after reports in Kuwaiti media claimed that Kuwait-based Sanam Real Estate had withdrawn from working on the Metro project due to difficulties in obtaining loans from UAE banks.
