Scandinavian Airlines said yesterday it would reduce fuel surcharges by €3 (Dh15) on domestic, intra-Scandinavian and European flights, while on intercontinental flights the airline would drop the surcharges by 5 euros between Europe and USA/Asia.

Effective December 19, the move is motivated to be less volatile at lower oil price, SAS said in a statement. "At the same time the USD has strengthened and SAS continues to monitor the dollar and the oil price development," it said.

SAS, the largest airline in Northern Europe and the national carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, restarted its Dubai-Copenhagen on October 30, 2008, with three flights a week, with smooth onward connections to cities in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and other parts of Northern Europe.
