ETA Star and Ascon Group’s flagship luxury project, Dubai Lifestyle City, yesterday said it has awarded a Dh49 million infrastructure contract to Saudi-based Bin Ladin Contracting.
Lifestyle City, a Dh2.5 billion project in Dubailand, covers a land area of four million square feet and aims to create a self-sufficient lifestyle community by September 2009.
The contract will cover infrastructure installations within Lifestyle City including sewerage and storm water drainage system, electrical cabling, irrigation piping, firefighting systems, low current system ducts, street lighting and cabling works.
Arif B Rahman, managing director of Lifestyle City, said: “At Dubai Lifestyle City, we give priority to safety and comfort of its residents and visitors.
We always aim for premium quality in our work and we are confident Bin Ladin Contracting will meet our requirements and specifications at this stage.”
The company has hired Cansult Maunsell, one of the largest engineering consulting firms in the Gulf region, to design and oversee the infrastructure development.
Work on grading, levelling and site mobilisation of the project has already been completed.
