Top global urban planners, decision-makers and mayors will participate in urban development conference Global City Abu Dhabi 2009 to be held in capital on January 20-21 next year.
Several hundred delegates are expected to attend the event, including local elected representatives from around the world, and private and public sector players and top consultants.
Sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED) and the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, the meeting will be held for the first time in the region, the organiser Reed Exhibitions said.
The conference will have sustainability and global warming as key themes. Mohamed Rashed Al Hamili, Deputy
Director-General of ADCED, said the central idea of the forum is that local authorities play an important role in the future of planet earth.
