Benaa company expects to play a bigger role in the construction of green buildings in the country as part of government plans to protect the environment and conserve energy in the long term.

The firm produces environment-friendly building materials that are able to reduce energy usage and protect the natural environment from pollution.

The company will be able to meet Masdar's plan to construct world's biggest green city in Abu Dhabi.

Abdulrahman Rashid Al Balawi, Benaa's General Manager, said: "Benaa is considered a main player in Abu Dhabi's construction market through its strategic partnerships with Aldar, Sorouh, Masdar and the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council.

"Benaa meets the requirements of Abu Dhabi Plan 2030, which aims to achieve urban expansion throughout Abu Dhabi, especially in Western Region and Al Ain.

"Benaa's products give longer life to buildings and villas because they are made from environment-friendly components and protect residential units from high temperature in summer. This minimises power consumption and limits pollution.

"Benaa produces around 1,200 sqm of mile bricks, which are suitable for green cities and ready-made units and villas. The firm will remain a main player in the construction market for top developers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai."
