Contractors invited for projects in Abu Dhabi

Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has invited contractors to participate in the pre-qualification tender for three of its projects in Abu Dhabi emirate.

The tenders are for main contract works at Saadiyat Beach Golf Villas and piling works at Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum at Saadiyat Island. It has also asked contractors to submit for primary bulk earthworks and enabling works (including retaining wall structures) for a project in Al Ain.

Saadiyat Beach Golf Villas is a private residential estate located within the Saadiyat Beach Golf Course area and includes 75 villas with a total built up area of about 36,500 square metres. The scope of work includes landscaping and infrastructure within the site perimeter. The total area of the site is 77,369 sqm.

Contractors should have had a minimum annual turnover for construction activities of Dh700 million in each of the past three years and successfully completed five projects each in excess of Dh350m in the past three years.

Contractors who meet the criteria can register their interest and request a prequalification questionnaire before February 3 and collect the same by February 10. At the time of collection the applicant should make a non-returnable payment of Dh15,000 in the form of a manager's cheque to TDIC.

The second tender for piling works at Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum will involve the construction of about 1,800 cast-in-place bored piles.

Interested contractors should have had a minimum annual turnover for construction activities of Dh300m in each of the past three years and successfully completed five projects each in excess of Dh125m in the past three years.

Contractors who meet the criteria can register their interest and request a prequalification questionnaire before February 4 and collect the same by February 9. At the time of collection the applicant should make a non-returnable payment of Dh10,000 in the form of a manager's cheque to TDIC.

The initial primary bulk earthworks will include cut, fill, compaction and leveling for an area of about 40 hectares with the construction of retaining walls.

Contractors should have had a minimum annual turnover for construction activities of Dh400m in each of the past three years and successfully completed five projects each in excess of Dh200m in the past three years. Contractors who meet the criteria can register their interest and request a pre-qualification questionnaire before February 3 and collect the same by February 10. At the time of collection the applicant should make a non-returnable payment of Dh10,000 in the form of a manager's cheque to TDIC.

The overall common criteria for all contractors are that they should have relevant experience on projects similar in size, character and complexity.
