Danube sets up Dh50m ceiling plant in Sharjah

Danube Building Materials has invested Dh 50 million in a new ceiling manufacturing facility located in the Sharjah Industrial Area I. It also plans to launch a new range of gypsum ceiling tiles and accessories as part of the company's aims to address the increasing demand for gypsum products, which has grown by 10 fold in the last two years. Danube is one of the leading players in the construction, interior decoration and shop fitting industry.

The new 120,000 sq ft facility is designed to manufacture gypsum ceiling products, including studs, tracks, furring channels, main channels and wall angles. The production line will be powered by imported precision cut technology will dominate the facility, which will be constructed in two phases with Dh 25 million being allocated for each phase.

"We are witnessing a substantial increase in demand for ceiling products amidst the phenomenal rise of the construction market that is sweeping the region, and it is our primary goal to supply the mounting need for high quality building materials, especially in growing markets such as Sharjah," said Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Building Materials. "This new facility, which is currently under construction, will be operated using the latest manufacturing innovations and is considered as a major step in our expansion plans in the UAE," he added.
