The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) said that it was keen on supporting the existing partnership with the private sector during its annual Emirate Vendors Open House, according to Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector.

The event was organised by the Contracts and Purchasing Department at RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector in collaboration with RTA Marine Agency as part of its annual programme.

Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, CEO, RTA Marine Agency alongwith RTA managers, experts, representatives of contractors, consultants and service providers dealing with the Marine Agency were present.

The event featured an open dialogue between the RTA and vendors through which several issues pertaining to the progress of work were discussed. RTA staff and experts responded to questions from the audience.

Al Madani said: "RTA is looking forward to building sustained partnerships in the private sector towards continuing the development and advancement of Dubai.

"We will achieve this by helping RTA partners understand the nature and requirements of our projects and the need to complete these projects according to specified standards.

"The RTA is also keen on creating a competitive atmosphere for its partners in order to ensure their effective involvement in the projects undertaken.

"We also seek to upgrade the services delivered to partners, enabling them to access required information about projects on offer, and facilitating transactions with the objective of creating a healthy and competitive atmosphere," he added.

Saeed Al Marri, Director of Contracts and Purchasing Department at RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, added: "The objective of holding a Vendors Open House is to strengthen the partnership with them and convey RTA's recognition of the considerable role they play in achieving its objectives through the implementation of projects and services.

"It is also aimed at bolstering bilateral relations, discussing many matters and issues of mutual concern, attending to suppliers' feedback and observations on RTA projects, getting to know their needs and fulfilling them at the earliest."

He added: "RTA is keen on making the Vendors Open House an annual event. This will strengthen Dubai's successes, development and progress. RTA strives to support developmental projects by qualifying suppliers, improving construction standards among them and augmenting communication with them through multiple channels."
