The Soheil Abedian School of Architecture, named after its benefactor, a long-term supporter of Bond University, Australia, will open in January 2011.
Combining best practices and fostering partnerships with leading universities around the world, it will offer 50 places for the six-semester undergraduate program, a statement said.
The school's mentor, Soheil Abedian, is Managing Director of Emirates Sunland Group. The group is one of Dubai's developers involved in several schemes including Palazzo Versace Dubai, D1 as part of its Emirates Sunland Group joint venture and separately with Balli Group, the development of Nur. The group's Dubai developments have are approximately worth Dh6 billion.
Bond University, situated on Queensland's Gold Coast, was Australia's first private, not-for-profit university, established in 1987. The university provides scholarships to UAE students and has designed a Master's Degree for the real estate education body, the Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), which is managed by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
