TDIC invites contractors to bid for two projects

Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has invited contractors to undertake main contract works on Sir Bani Yas Island. The Al Yamm Lodge, Al Barari Lodge, Equestrian Centre, the Conference Centre and the Dive and Sport Fishing Centre, which are the five high-quality hospitality and leisure facilities, will require civil, structural, MEP, landscaping, interior fit-out and external works.

Interested contractors can register and apply for a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) by tomorrow and arrange for collection of the PQQ by February 2. Responses to the PQQ must be submitted no later than February 9.

The interested companies must have experience on similar projects in terms of size, character and complexity and be a major registered construction company with representation in the UAE.

It must have a minimum annual company turnover for construction activities of Dh500 million in each of the past three years and must have successfully completed five projects each in excess of Dh250m in the past three years.

It must also be prepared to be one of the 10 short-listed companies willing to submit a construction work tender under a single stage competitive tender process. A non-returnable payment of Dh15,000 in the form of a manager's cheque must be made in the name of TDIC at the time of collection of the PQQ.

TDIC has also invited contractors to participate in pre-qualifying for the tender for the main contract works for Marina District Area A – earthworks grading and infrastructure works and the Cultural District Phase 1 – infrastructure works in Saadiyat Island. Interested contractors can register and apply for a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) by February 6.

These projects comprise primarily of civil works improvements consisting of earthworks grading to formation levels, new road construction, multi-span post-tensioned concrete bridgeworks, asphalt roadways, barriers and traffic signaling with infrastructure works consisting of sanitary sewer, electrical, potable water, storm drainage, telecom ducts, natural gas and fibre optic network.

The contract durations of each package are expected to be 18 months with works anticipated to commence mid-March to mid-May 2010.

The interested companies must have experience on similar projects in terms of size, character and complexity and be a major registered construction company with representation in the UAE.

It must have a minimum annual company turnover for construction activities of Dh1 billion in each of the last three years and must have successfully completed five projects each in excess of Dh500 million in the last three years.

It must also be prepared to be one of the 10 short-listed companies willing to submit a construction works tender under a single stage competitive tender process.

A non-returnable payment in the form of a manager's cheque must be made in the name of TDIC of

Dh 15,000 will be required at the time of collection of the PQQ. Responses to the PQQ must be submitted no later than February 13.
