Firms vying for Aramco's Ras Tanura refinery work

Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) has received more than 40 applications from companies seeking to prequalify for construction work on its Ras Tanura refinery, London-based Middle East Economic Digest reported.

At least 40 companies submitted prequalification documents to Aramco by the February 23 deadline, Meed reported, citing a source close to the project.

Aramco is expected to inform the successful prequalifiers by mid-March, the business weekly reported.

The project will be tendered in five packages comprising a crude and vacuum distillation unit, a diesel hydrotreater and catalyst regeneration facility, a sulphur recovery unit, sour water stripper and flare system, utilities, offsite and handling facilities, and tank farms, according to Meed.
