A draft federal law on land transport is to be drawn up following a series of studies, the Ministerial Council for Services (MCS) decided yesterday. The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs. Also present was Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs. (WAM)
Tecom Investments yesterday announced that 10 business partners joined its energy conservation programme, which aims to reduce carbon emissions.
Microsoft Gulf, HP Middle East, University of Wollongong Dubai, Canon and Cupola are among the companies that have teamed up with Tecom.
The programme is expected to reduce carbon emissions at business partner offices by 1,338 tonnes annually. The initiative has already saved 12,230 MWh of energy and reduced water consumption by 20,313 million gallons between January and September 2008. It also helped to cut Tecom's CO2 emissions by 10,924 tonnes. "We are proud of our achievements with the conservation programme," said Dr Amina Alrustamani, CEO of Tecom Business Parks.
