Budget carrier, flydubai, said yesterday it has doubled its GCC network to four destinations as it plans to launch two new routes – Kuwait and Muscat – this month. This brings the Dubai-based carrier's network to 13 routes with a double-daily service to both cities.

The carrier's flights to Muscat will begin on March 28 and the Kuwait services will start on March 30, flydubai said in a statement, adding that 2010 is set to be the airline's "busy year" of route announcements.

"Oman is growing in importance from a business perspective with its position on the Indian Ocean making it an important trading and political nation," Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive of flydubai, said adding that these elements made Kuwait and Oman natural choices for the airline's next two destinations.
