Eight healthcare centres to be ready by 2013

Seven healthcare centres across Fujairah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah were launched last year and eight more will be operational between 2011 and 2013 at the cost of Dh731 million, reported 'Al Bayan'.

Among those launched in 2010 include primary healthcare centres in Nazwi; Al Raheeb; Al Khalibia; Al Akamia; Thalassemia Centre in Fujairah; labourers fitness centre in Khorfakkan.

Equipment and furniture of the department of cardiac surgery in Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah as well as the building of preventive medicine in Ajman medical zone not fully operational.

Healthcare centres under construction are Al Amal Hospital in Dubai; Women's Hospital (new) in Sharjah; Masfout Hospital in Ajman; Umm Al Quwain Hospital (new); Abdullah Bin Omran Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah; and Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah.
