Etisalat signs agreement with GE Healthcare

Etisalat and GE Healthcare, the $17 billion (Dh62.4bn) healthcare business of General Electric Company (GE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce the latest healthcare solutions in the UAE.

In healthcare, access to timely information is critical. Etisalat, with its expertise in infrastructure connectivity, will leverage GE Healthcare's innovative solutions and expertise in capturing patient information. This strategic combination will result in the development and offering of medical data management and remote clinical support services via etisalat's state-of-the-art telecom infrastructure.

Abdulla Hashim, Senior VP, Business Solutions, etisalat, said: "This is a significant development and will build on our respective strengths to introduce solutions that will help the UAE to move towards next-generation diagnostic services.

"This will enable us to provide high-end solutions for rural areas," said Mazen Dalati, Regional Executive Manager, Devices, Emea MEA region at GE Healthcare.
